I started showing poultry with my dad over 40 years ago
when I was about 10 years old. In my 20's I started my own
cabinet shop and stopped showing for a number of years as
my dad continued in the hobby on his own.

One day when my son was about 8 years old, we were up in
the attic and he saw a box of trophies. Next thing I knew I
was back in an old familiar hobby, looking at it from the
other side. My son is now in his 20’s and as things have
come full circle, I am showing on my own. I hope one day
when his life settles down he will pick it up again with his
    children.

I got started with bantam Buckeyes about 3 years ago when
I was looking for a breed that wasn't in the same class as the
Belgian d'Anvers I was showing.  Annette de Bruycker, Bob
Rhodes, Chris McCary, and Sharon Fildes, all ABPC
members helped me get my first birds. I quickly fell in love
with the breed. They are productive and gentle birds.

Buckeyes are a triple purpose breed for me because I enjoy
    showing them as well.
